Poetry by Jamie McKenzie

3 AM is the hour when souls kiss
And snug in your arms
Under these covers of ours
I am home at last
And all is right with the world

You whisper sweet nothings
Into my chest
And each breath I take
Is a taste of you
But I cannot get enough
And keep breathing
And again
And out
Wanting more
And more
I am never satisfied
Cannot be satisfied
Always hungering
I listen to the old clock ticking away
In the hallway
And I count the seconds
One by one
Wanting them to slow down
As they drag us toward morning
And an end to this feast
