Poetry by Jamie McKenzie

When all else fails
Spend the day walking
Placing one foot
Before the other
Keeping an eye out for tomorrow
Hiding somewhere
Around the corner
Or down the block

Don’t look down
Ignore the benches
And the park
Just keep on moving
Placing one foot
Before the other
Make it happen
Make it come
Keep on walking
Block after block
After block

If you stop
You die
You die
You die

Keep on walking
And sooner or later
When you least expect it
Your luck will turn
The traffic will stop
And all the lights will turn green

Cross over
Keep walking
Make your own parade
