Cloud Catcher

Long, narrow and grey
Mountains on each side
Lying still, flat and calm
You catch clouds
As you can

You gather clouds to lakeside
Like some people collect
Broken promises
Shards of dreams
To hold them close
Like trophies
Or Kewpie dolls

You embrace the clouds
Each morning
Only to let them go
As day
Breaks
Sun appears
Life goes on
