Cornered

Kind of funny
Looking back now
Or ironic
I suppose
How our garden grew
Flourished
And began to bloom fully
Even as our love
Began to die
Shrivel up
And join the weeds
The clippings
And the fallen branches
All that we had pruned
And piled up
As compost
Hidden
Down there
In the far corner
With the brambles
The multiflora roses
And the irrepressible morning glories
Kind of funny
I suppose
In a sardonic
Sarcastic
Bitter
Sort of bad joke
