In the quiet way I love you

Hearing your breath next to mine
Feeling your leg touching mine
I lie awake
Quiet
But dreaming
The night whispering outside our windows
Secrets and promises
Soft in the breeze that stirs
I am home now
Finally
And a dream lies in the bed
Between us
Like a newborn child
Also breathing
In and out
As we do

We have no place to go now
And no waiting
No wishing
No wanting
We have what we want
And what we need
We are content
We are home
