Monkey business

Some people are suddenly
And conveniently
Hard of hearing
Deaf to the truth
And unwilling to listen
Suddenly blind
Visually impaired
And speechless
Like the three monkeys
Who see no evil
Hear no evil
And speak no evil
When their king
Goes on trial
He could be naked
Wearing no clothes
And robbing a bank
Shooting some innocent on 5th Avenue
Starting a war with Iran
Or France
Or Mexico
And they would just applaud
Cheer him on
And praise him for any of his irreverent
And corrupt
Monkey business
