Mr. Balloon Man

Mr. Balloon Man relinquish your strings
There’s no time for childish things
There’s work to be done and no room for fun
So let those dreams go with the wind.
The wind – let those dreams go with the wind

We hand you our quarters – we hand you our dimes
We sing any nonsense that rhymes
To color the sky balloons we must buy
To let our dreams go with the wind
The wind – let our dreams go with the wind

Even in winter with snow on the ground
You wander a silly old fool
You pass out balloons while humming this tune
And let your dreams go with the wind
The wind – let your dreams go with the wind

The wind lifts them high
Painting the sky
And as dreams drift by
An old man cries
Yes, an old man cries
